· Introductions by Chair and Vice Chair (two positions available Secretary and Treasurer)

· Guida Marty named Treasurer and Odette Henry named Secretary. Motion passed by Chair and seconded by Vice-Chair

· Guida gave a summary for IB monies received. At this time there is $1008 in the bank.

· Future ideas to fundraise for- Mobile Library (one of the IB requirements)

· Funds of the Gala allocated to the mobile library

· Guild wants to grow so more parental participation is needed

· Gala date sometime in Feb. Date firm after discussing with Aaron

· Fundraising suggestion- Pizza dinner at the concert. Logistics needs to be discussed with Aaron

· Balaji will send an email to request for participation on committees and a description of each

· Subcommittees for the Gala events discussed

· Time commitment for each committee is required

· Members agreed to having food at the concert

· Next mtg. In Dec (TBA)

Volunteering Positions - Immediate requirement

Hi Everybody,

We had a good turnout on out first parents guild meeting. We discussed a lot of things. The meeting minutes will be out soon on our blog.

The next BIG upcoming event is the Gala Dinner scheduled around the ides of Feb 2012.

We have a few committees which we would like to fill in now. The following are the committees that needs volunteers immediately

1. Creative committee : mainly responsible for the theme and the flow from the start to the finish (including deco and food). We don't have a theme so need to make one. Should be able to work around a budget. Anyone interested in interior designing would be nice for this role.

2. Decoration/setup committee : works closely with the creative committee to give ideas where we can buy the props ( There are lot of existing props with the drama teacher Mrs. Deras and with the school. Please approach them for more insight on this.) also involved in setting up the stage, the dinner tables etc.

3. Silent auction committee : responsible for collecting the items, grouping them, wrapping them nicely, fixing a price on it, advertising it on the parents blog. Also responsible for reaching out to parents and their friends for donation.

Dear Parents,

As the new Chair of Parents Guild, I invite you to the first Parent's Guild meeting for this school year on 23rd of November 2011 at 7pm at the premises St. Judes Academy. More information to follow later in this week,

We had a dormant pause until now but we are going to double up our efforts with your co-operation and willingness to help build a closer bond among St Judes family and lift our kids to greater heights.

Bragging rights up for grabs, the Parent's Guild did a fantastic job last year with a series of well organised activities that raked in valuable funding for our IB fee.

We have several challenges in this forthcoming year too and with all your combined force, I aim to take the Parents Guild and its objectives to higher peaks.

I have some new ideas that I would like to share with all of you and I am also excited to hear about new proposals from all of you.

Confirmation, volunteering and new ideas can start as early as now.
